Markdown table editor
Paste a Markdown table and press “Apply to table,” or select a Markdown file to replace the current table. Edit cells, rows, columns, and text alignment, then copy the table with bold and link syntax preserved, or save it as a Markdown file.
What you can do
Edit without rearranging syntax characters
Paste a Markdown table or import a .md file to edit table cells directly.
Preserve alignment and syntax
Preserve the imported column text alignment and syntax such as bold text and links, then get the edited Markdown again.
How to use
Import a Markdown table
Paste the table source and press “Apply to table,” or select a .md file. This replaces the entire current table.
Edit cells, rows, and columns
Edit cells and organize items by adding or deleting rows and columns. You can change text alignment from the column menu.
Get the updated table
Edits are automatically reflected in the result. Copy it or get it as table.md, then check how it appears where you use it.
Useful when
Update a list in a README
Add rows and columns to a table that needs more items or descriptions, then put it back into the existing document.
Align numeric columns
Select right alignment from the column menu and export a table that makes numbers easier to compare.
Before re-editing a Markdown table
Treat the source text and result separately
The paste field is for importing. The results of cell edits appear in the Markdown below. Reapplying the source replaces the entire table.
The preview is for checking contents
Review bold and link syntax as text. Check the actual formatting and links where you paste the Markdown.
Frequently asked questions
Are bold text and links preserved?
The output preserves the syntax in the Markdown source. Within cells, syntax is treated as text; this feature does not let you edit with formatting applied.
Does editing an imported table also change the source text?
The source text in the paste field does not change. Cell edits are automatically reflected in the Markdown below.
How large a table can I work with?
The limits are 100 rows, 20 columns, and 1,000 cells in total. Each cell can contain up to 500 characters, and the entire table up to 50,000 characters. Input that exceeds a limit is not applied, and the previous table is retained.
