JSON to Lottie

Add Lottie JSON and convert it to .lottie files for distribution. Multiple JSON files are converted into separate files, and you can check the created animations' motion before saving.

Lottie animation JSON is supported. You can also add multiple files.

What you can do

Convert to .lottie for distribution

Convert existing Lottie JSON to a compressed .lottie package. This does not create new animations.

Convert multiple JSON files separately

When you select multiple JSON files, a separate .lottie is created for each. This is different from bundling animations into one file.

Check the output animation & save

Check the preview of the created .lottie. Changes to preview speed or background do not affect the saved file.

How to use

  1. Add Lottie JSON

Select the animation JSON to convert. You can also add multiple files.

  2. Check the content & create

Check the input preview and referenced assets, then select “Create .lottie”. Resolve any missing assets.

  3. Check the converted output & save

Check how the created file looks, then download it. For multiple results, switch between files to check and save each one.

Useful for

Prepare animations for distribution

Convert Lottie JSON to deliver it to websites or apps that support .lottie.

Use the same format for multiple animations

Add several Lottie JSON files and save each animation as a separate .lottie.

The difference between Lottie JSON & .lottie

Accepts JSON that describes motion

Lottie JSON describes shapes, images, motion and other animation data. General JSON such as table data or app settings cannot be turned into animation.

.lottie is a compressed package

.lottie stores animation JSON and assets. Compression changes the file size, but the reduction rate varies with the content.

Check playback environment compatibility

Even if an environment supports Lottie JSON, loading .lottie requires a compatible player. Check whether the destination app or library supports it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert general JSON files too?

This tool accepts JSON in the Lottie animation format. It does not generate motion from text, table data or similar content.

What if the animation uses images in separate files?

You also need to resolve the required referenced assets. To handle JSON and images together, you can also use the related tool “Package Lottie with images”.

Do multiple JSON files become one .lottie file?

This tool converts each JSON file separately. Use “Bundle Lottie animations in one file” to package multiple animations together.

Will conversion always make the file smaller?

File size changes vary with the input content. A fixed reduction rate or identical appearance in every playback environment is not guaranteed.

Can I add themes or interactive states?

This tool is for format conversion. It does not provide actions to create new themes or interactive states, and cannot create output from input containing extensions that cannot be carried over.
