Extract Lottie assets
Extract images and other assets used in Lottie JSON, .lottie, or ZIP files to reuse them in other creative work. Check the assets that contain actual data and save them as individual files or a ZIP, without changing the original size or quality.
What you can do
Inspect included assets
Extract assets with actual data from Lottie JSON or .lottie files. You can check the appearance of images.
Save individually or as a complete set
Save the assets you need one at a time, or save all assets in the list together as a ZIP.
Retrieve the original assets as is
Extract image files and other files inside, rather than rendering a scene from the animation as an image.
How to use
Add Lottie
Add Lottie JSON, .lottie, or ZIP. If multiple animations are included, select the one to inspect.
Check which assets can be extracted
Assets with actual data are eligible. Images that are only external references cannot be extracted unless you add the original images.
Extract assets
Select “Extract assets”. In the generated list, check the images, file names, and file sizes.
Save individually or as a ZIP
Select “Download” for each asset or “Save all as ZIP”.
Useful for
Recover original images you do not have locally
Extract original assets from an animation with embedded images to prepare them for use in other materials or creative work.
Inspect the contents of distributed files
Organize the included images while checking their file names and previews.
The difference between extracting assets and rendering images
External references do not contain image data
When JSON contains only an image name or URL, the image is not automatically fetched from that reference. Add the required images from your local files.
Vector shapes are not included in extracted images
Rendering information for Lottie shapes and text differs from image files such as PNG. Frames are not rendered as images, and shapes are not converted.
Assets inside the package
For .lottie files, assets in the same package as the selected animation are also eligible. They are not necessarily limited to images visible during the animation, so check the list before saving.
Individual saving and ZIP
Use individual saving to select the assets you need, and ZIP to retrieve all assets in the list together. If file names conflict inside the ZIP, numbers are appended to distinguish them.
Frequently asked questions
Can I also extract images that are only external references?
If the image data is not in the file, it cannot be extracted as is. Images you add from your local files and match to references can be included. Images are not automatically fetched from external URLs.
Are vector shapes also converted to PNG?
No. This feature does not convert shape rendering information into images. It extracts assets whose actual data is included.
Can I extract assets even if the animation cannot play?
Assets can be extracted if their data is available. Even if other assets needed for playback are missing, retrieving the assets that are present is handled separately.
Can I save fonts too?
Fonts can be included if the actual font data is present. A font file cannot be saved when only its name is specified.
Does the image quality or format change?
Extraction does not convert asset data. To change image formats or compression quality, use an image tool after retrieving the assets.
