Lottie to JSON
Choose an animation to extract from .lottie, Lottie JSON or ZIP and create a file for an environment that uses JSON. Choose one JSON file with embedded images, or a ZIP with separate JSON and images, check the motion, then save it.
What you can do
Extract the animation you need
From a .lottie containing multiple animations, choose the one you need and convert it to JSON.
Choose how to deliver images
Choose one JSON file with embedded images, or a ZIP with separate JSON and images.
Check the converted motion
The created file is loaded again for preview. Compare it with the original images and motion before saving.
How to use
Add Lottie
Add .lottie, Lottie JSON or ZIP. This does not convert ordinary data JSON into animation.
Choose an animation & output format
Select the animation to extract, then choose JSON with images or a ZIP with images in separate files.
Check the content & create
Check the preview and referenced assets. For input containing themes or similar information, check what cannot be carried over before creating the output.
Check the conversion result & save
Check the generated file's preview, then download it. If using ZIP, keep the extracted JSON and images in their original folder structure.
Useful for
Deliver to an environment that accepts JSON
Deliver an animation as JSON to a destination that does not support .lottie.
Organize images & motion data
To manage images as separate files, get a ZIP with separate JSON and images.
Standalone JSON & ZIP with assets
One JSON file with embedded images
Image data is included in the JSON. You can deliver one JSON file without sending images as separate files.
ZIP with separate JSON and images
Bundle the JSON and its referenced images. Take care: changing image names or locations after extraction breaks the references.
Package-specific settings
Themes, interactive states and package settings cannot be carried over to standard animation JSON. For affected inputs, explicitly confirm this and keep the original .lottie too.
Preview & destination
Playback speed and background are for preview only. They do not change the saved content. Also check the images and motion in the destination player.
Frequently asked questions
Can I choose an animation if the file contains several?
Yes. Select an animation to inspect and convert the one you select. This does not export all animations together as JSON.
Can I extract images as separate files?
Choose “ZIP with separate JSON and images”. Save a bundle containing the JSON and images. If you only need images or other assets, use “Extract Lottie assets”.
Are themes or interactive states preserved?
They cannot be carried over to standard JSON. For affected inputs, confirmation is requested and output cannot be created until you agree. The converted output alone may not allow you to reconstruct the entire original package.
What should I do if assets are missing?
Check the references and add required images or other assets from your device. Choose which assets to use if there are multiple candidates. JSON or ZIP cannot be created until the references are resolved.
Can I convert any JSON?
This tool accepts JSON in the Lottie animation format. It does not turn general JSON such as table data or configuration files into motion.
