Battery capacity converter

Enter the battery capacity, its unit and the corresponding nominal voltage to convert between mAh, Ah and Wh. View 3 values under the same voltage conditions, then copy them together or save them as TXT. The calculation does not include discharge conditions, degradation, conversion losses or the number of possible charges.

Use the nominal voltage corresponding to the capacity you entered. Distinguish it from USB output voltage.

Calculation results

Use the capacity and nominal voltage to check the values in mAh, Ah and Wh.

What you can do

Compare mAh, Ah and Wh together

Specify the capacity value, its unit and the nominal voltage to view the values expressed in 3 units together.

Check the voltage used with the results

Also displays the nominal voltage used for the conversion to Wh. This helps you notice the conditions when comparing batteries with different voltages.

How to use

  1. Enter the capacity and unit

Enter the capacity from specifications or another source, and choose mAh, Ah or Wh as the unit.

  2. Enter the nominal voltage on the same basis

Specify the nominal voltage of the battery or pack corresponding to the capacity you entered.

  3. Review the converted results

Press Convert to check the 3 values and voltage conditions, then copy or save the results if needed.

Useful when

Compare capacity labels in different units

Check the nominal capacities of products labeled in mAh and products labeled in Wh using the same unit.

Calculate Wh from specification values

Use this when you want to check energy in Wh for a battery whose capacity and nominal voltage are known.

Capacity units and nominal voltage

Difference between mAh / Ah and Wh

mAh and Ah represent electric charge, while Wh represents energy. 1000mAh is 1Ah, but converting to Wh requires voltage.

Use voltage on the same basis as capacity

Calculated as Wh = Ah × V. If the capacity is a cell-side value, use the cell's nominal voltage. Do not mix in values on another basis, such as USB output voltage.

Distinguish it from the amount actually usable

This calculation is a unit conversion under the conditions you enter. It does not include discharge conditions, degradation, losses from voltage conversion or the number of possible charges.

Frequently asked questions

Does the same mAh mean the same energy?

Wh changes when the voltage differs. Do not compare using mAh alone; check it together with the corresponding nominal voltage.

Where can I check the voltage?

Check the nominal voltage on the battery or device label, or in the manufacturer's specifications. Also check which voltage the entered capacity is based on.

Can I find out how many times it can charge a smartphone?

This screen converts units between mAh, Ah and Wh. It does not account for charging efficiency or actual usage conditions, so it does not calculate the number of possible charges.
