Dice Roller with Fewer Repeats

Rolls dice that are less likely to repeat the same face or to cluster on a few faces. Each roll considers the recent results.

Start with “Roll dice”.

Advanced settingsRolls per batch: 1

Usually leave this at 1. You can record up to 100 rolls.

What this dice roller does

Fewer back-to-back repeats

When the same face just rolled, it becomes somewhat less likely to roll again, so long runs of one number feel less common.

Better spread over short runs

Because recent results shape the candidates' odds, even a short session spreads out instead of piling onto one face.

Familiar history of rolls

Rolls and totals are kept in the same record format as the standard tool, so you can watch the streaks as they happen.

How to use

  1. Pick faces and dice

Rolls 1 to 20 dice with 4 to 100 faces each. The default is two six-sided dice.

  2. Roll

The primary button rolls all dice at once. For repeated rolls, set the repeat count or roll again while keeping the results.

  3. Check the records

The history keeps every roll with its total. Clear the history when you want to start observing fresh.

When this helps

When one face keeps showing up

For board games or practice where "is this die broken?" keeps coming to mind. Real dice streak too, but you can switch to this gentler roller before the doubt grows.

When early rolls should spread

Useful when a single face dominating the opening makes play awkward, such as casual solo games that lean on rolls.

How it differs from the standard roller

Why streaks shrink

A standard roll never remembers the previous face. This policy weighs candidates against the recent history, so the face you just rolled — and faces that came up repeatedly — get somewhat less weight next time.

Repeats still happen

The same face can roll again, and the sequence is never a strict alternation. Nothing is permanently forbidden, so the roller never settles into a mechanical cycle.

FAQ

Does this guarantee the same face never repeats?

No. It reduces repeats rather than forbidding them, so the same face can roll twice in a row.

Are the odds equal on every roll?

No. This policy considers recent results, so each roll is not independent. When equal odds matter, use the standard roller.

Will it output 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in order?

No. Only the weighting changes, and the sequence stays irregular. It never locks into a repeating cycle.

Handling

All rolls happen inside this browser. Results and history are never sent to a server.
History
Deleting the history removes records only; faces and dice count settings stay unchanged.
