Random Picker with Fewer Repeats

Draws names with the recent winners in mind, so the same person is less likely to be picked over and over.

Identical lines are merged into 1 entry. Distinguish people with the same full name using a group or number.

Advanced settingsMerge identical names・No repeat wins

The repeat-win setting applies within a single draw. Drawing again selects afresh from the entire current set of candidates.

What this picker does

Considers the recent winners

The name drawn just before — and names drawn repeatedly in a short span — become somewhat less likely to win the next draw.

Same candidates as the standard picker

Enter one name per line and set the number of winners exactly like the standard random picker.

Keeps results with conditions

The committed winners and the conditions that produced them stay beside the result, like the standard tool.

How to use

  1. List candidates one per line

Type the names in the candidate box, one per line. Duplicate handling matches the standard picker.

  2. Set winners

Choose how many winners each draw picks. The no-duplicates-within-a-draw setting is inherited from the standard picker.

  3. Draw

The primary button draws the winners. Over repeated draws, recent winners weigh less and less.

When this helps

Rotating chores or presentations

Classroom and office rosters where "him again?" stings. Recent results are weighed so turns spread more evenly.

Situations where back-to-back wins hurt

For events and in-game picks where the same person winning twice in a row feels unfair, without ever hard-banning a win.

How it differs from "no repeats"

Separate from within-draw deduplication

"No repeats" removes a name from a single draw once it wins. This page instead weighs the winners of past draws, and both settings can be combined.

The same person can still win

The previous winner still has a chance. Suppression is soft, so no draw is ever impossible to win.

FAQ

Does everyone get picked eventually?

This is not a guaranteed rotation. Recent winners only become less likely; nothing is ever ruled out.

Do the odds change between draws?

Yes. Because recent results are considered, each draw is not independent. When the odds must stay fixed, use the standard picker.

Where is the draw history kept?

It stays in this page on this device. Names and winners are never sent to a server.
