About image extraction

Embedded raster images are the source

The tool extracts photos and other raster images stored in the PDF. Text and vector drawings are not extracted unless they are embedded as images.

A scanned PDF may store an entire page as a single image.

An extracted image can look different from the page

Text placed over an image and margins outside it are not included. To save the whole page as it appears, use PDF to JPG or PDF to PNG.

Output format and quality

PNG can retain image transparency. When converted to JPG, transparent areas become white.

Original JPG data is kept without recompression when it can be extracted directly. Other images converted to JPG use the quality value in advanced settings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I extract images from specific pages?

Enter a range such as 1-3,5 in advanced settings. Leave it blank to include all pages.

Can I save several images at once?
