What you can do

Convert to a format that suits your purpose

Choose from the output formats available for your images. You can change settings for individual files as well.

Adjust dimensions and quality for multiple images

Change width, height, aspect ratio and quality as needed, then save the results together.

Check transparency and frame handling

Transparency handling varies by output format. With supported input and output formats, choose to preserve animation or save the first frame as a still image. Check the settings before conversion and inspect the finished images.

How to use

  1. Add images or a folder

Add the images you want to convert. Multiple images can be processed together.

  2. Choose an output format and settings

Choose a format and adjust quality or dimensions if needed. Files with individual settings use those settings.

  3. Check and save the images

Inspect viewable results in the preview, then save files individually or as a ZIP of multiple results.

Useful when

Meeting a publication or submission format

Convert images to the required format and check changes such as transparency.

Matching dimensions and quality across images

Set common width, height and quality without repeating the same steps for every image.

Image formats, transparency and animation

Format and quality are separate settings

Changing the format cannot restore detail absent from the original image. Lower quality may reduce file size, but check the appearance too.

JPEG removes transparency

Choose an output format that supports transparency to keep transparent areas. When transparency is removed, the selected background color is used.

Choose to preserve animation or save a still image

With supported input and output formats, preserve animation while converting the format, or save the first frame as a still image. Formats that cannot preserve animation save the first frame. To extract a later frame or all frames, use the dedicated animation frame extractor.

Keeping proportions may add margins

When both width and height are set and the aspect ratio is kept, the image is fitted within those dimensions. Turning off aspect ratio preservation stretches the image to the specified dimensions.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep the motion in an animated image?

For supported input and output formats, select “Keep animation” to convert while retaining motion. Formats that cannot preserve animation save the first frame as a still image. To extract a selected frame or every frame, use the dedicated animation frame extractor.

Can I keep transparent areas?

Choose Keep transparency with a supported format. Outputs such as JPEG fill transparent areas with the background color.
