Audio equalizer

Add background music or recording files and adjust the balance from bass to treble with presets or the frequency and gain for each band. Compare tracks with overly strong bass or material whose treble needs adjustment against the original audio, and save the adjusted audio in your chosen format. If clipping occurs, lower the gain and check again.

Adjust by frequency band11 controls · 0 dB

At 0 dB, this control leaves the volume unchanged. Positive values boost it, and negative values reduce it.

Normally, leave the overall control at 0 Hz. Selecting a preset also resets the frequencies to their standard values.

Useful when

Adjust background music bass

Adjust an audio clip with weak or excessive bass to suit its use.

Adjust a specific band

Increase or decrease the strength of treble or other bands to change how the audio sounds.

About frequency and gain

Frequency is the range to adjust

Lower Hz values correspond to lower sounds, and higher Hz values to higher sounds. Adjust band frequencies from a preset if needed.

Gain is the strength of that band

Positive dB increases the level and negative dB decreases it. 0 dB means that item does not change the volume.

How it differs from overall volume adjustment

An equalizer changes the balance of individual bands. To increase or decrease the entire audio uniformly, use the audio volume changer.

Preview if you boost too much

Boosting several bands may cause distortion. Lower the gain while checking the result.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from increasing the overall volume?

Volume adjustment changes the entire audio by the same percentage. An equalizer adjusts separate bands such as bass and treble.

Can I save the adjusted audio?

Yes. Save audio with the equalizer applied in the format chosen in advanced settings.

Can I reset the settings?

Choose the “Default” preset to return gain to 0 dB and frequencies to their defaults.
