Even with looping on, the WAV contains only one playthrough of the progression.

Playback starts with the first chord.

What you can do

Adjust each chord’s duration

Enter up to 16 chords and set each to 1 to 8 beats. Check the order and chord tones while listening to how the full progression sounds.

Match the tempo and pitch

Tempo ranges from 40 to 240 BPM and transposition from −12 to +12 semitones. Play at the speed and pitch you want for practice.

Save audio for practice

Save one playthrough of the created progression as WAV. Copy chord names, beats and chord tones as text.

How to use

  1. Enter chord names in order

Separate chords with spaces, such as C G Am F. You can also play the default progression as is.

  2. Adjust beats and tempo

Use the beats in each row to set that chord’s duration, and tempo to set the overall speed. Specify transposition to change the pitch.

  3. Play to hear the progression

Press “Play chord progression” to see which chord is currently playing. To repeat, open playback settings and turn on repeat playback.

  4. Save WAV or copy the progression

Download WAV after the playback audio has been created. Editing the input or settings that change the sound clears the old audio, so save anything you need first.

Useful when

Practice with accompaniment

Play the progression at a tempo and pitch that suit you to practice singing or an instrument. Repeat playback is available on screen.

Check how chords connect

Compare how the progression sounds when changing beats or pitch, such as holding the final chord longer or raising the whole progression by a semitone.

Understanding chords, beats and transposition

Chord names and chord tones

C contains C, E and G; Am contains A, C and E. Numbers in a row, such as C3, indicate the octave position. You can also specify a lower bass note, such as C/E.

Beats and tempo determine duration

At 120 BPM, 1 beat is 0.5 seconds and 4 beats are 2 seconds. Changing beats changes only that chord’s duration; changing tempo changes the duration of the whole progression.

Transposition changes all pitches together

0 keeps the entered pitch. + raises it and − lowers it; 12 semitones change it by 1 octave. Each row displays the chord name and tones played after transposition. Chord names in the input field are not rewritten.

Repeat playback and saved duration

Even with repeat playback on, the WAV contains only one playthrough of the progression. Tone and volume are reflected in saved audio. Switching repetition on or off alone does not change an already created WAV.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change how long each chord plays?

Yes. Choose 1 to 8 beats for each row. Editing the chord-name input resets every chord to 4 beats, so finalize the order before adjusting beats.

What chord names can I enter?

In addition to C and Am, supported chord types are 7, maj7, m7, dim, dim7, aug, sus2, sus4, 6, m6, add9, 9, maj9, m9 and 5. M7 is treated as maj7. You can also enter ♯, ♭ and bass notes such as C/E. Separate chords with spaces, commas or ASCII vertical bars, and keep the total within 16.

Does transposition change the chords I entered?

The input field keeps the original chord names. Each row’s chord name and tones, the playback audio and the copied text reflect transposition. Output note names consistently use sharps.

Can I save repeated playback directly as audio?

The WAV contains one playthrough of the progression. There is no option to specify a repeated duration for export. You can enable repeat playback on screen for practice.

Can I resume where I stopped?

Pressing play starts from the first chord. There is no pause or playback-position control. After editing beats, tempo or other settings, the next playback also starts from the beginning with the new settings.

What if I cannot hear sound?

Check that playback volume is not 0% and the device is not muted. If the browser restricts audio playback, check its settings and press play again.
