Change video volume

You can turn the video's overall audio volume up or down, or mute it to make a silent video. Adjust the volume with the slider or a numeric value, listen to check audio that was recorded too quietly or is too loud, then save the video with the changes.

What you can do

Adjust volume with numbers and a slider

Using 100% as the original volume, make it louder or quieter. Check the changed volume and save.

Mute or reset to the original volume

You can also create a video with the sound removed. Reset to 100% to restore the original volume.

How to use

  1. Choose a video

Choose a video whose volume you want to change and check the original sound.

  2. Specify the volume to save

Adjust using the slider or a number. Choose Mute to remove the sound.

  3. Listen after changes and save

Check that the sound is not too loud or distorted, then save the video with the volume changed.

Useful when

Make recordings of quiet voices easier to hear

When the audio in a recorded presentation or similar video is quiet, raise the volume while checking how it sounds.

Lower or remove overly loud sound

Adjust videos whose volume you want to lower, or mute and save videos that do not need audio.

Volume percentages, amplification and muting

100% is the original volume

Below 100% makes the audio quieter; above 100% amplifies it. 0% produces no sound, just like muting.

Amplification also makes noise louder

Noise in the original video gets louder along with voices. This feature does not remove noise or automatically equalize volume.

Check preview volume and saved volume separately

Player or device volume adjusts the sound while listening. Specify the percentage to apply to the video under Volume to save, and listen to the modified audio.

Frequently asked questions

Can I also lower or remove a video's sound?

Yes. Set the volume below 100% to lower it. Choose Mute to save with the sound removed.

Does making a quiet voice louder also increase noise?

Yes. Because all the original audio is amplified, surrounding noise may get louder too. Listen to the modified audio and adjust it.
