Flip video
Flip a video horizontally or vertically to adjust a mirrored image or an upside-down view. You can combine both flips, or turn flipping off to compare the appearance. The audio and duration are preserved, and the video is saved with the orientation you selected.
What you can do
Combine horizontal and vertical flips
Choose a horizontal flip, a vertical flip, or both. Check your selection in the preview.
Compare with the original orientation and save
Switch the display to the original video to compare. Clear the flips to return to the original orientation.
How to use
Select video
Select a video you want to mirror or flip vertically.
Choose flip directions
Select horizontal or vertical flips and check the orientation in the preview. Compare with the original video if needed.
Save the flipped video
Create and save the video in your desired orientation. The audio and duration stay the same.
When to use it
Restore a mirrored recording
Flip a video whose left and right are mirrored to get the orientation you want.
Swap the top and bottom or left and right of a video
Flip the video to the direction you want, check the change, then save.
Horizontal and vertical flips, and comparison with the original orientation
Specify horizontal and vertical flips separately
A horizontal flip swaps left and right, and a vertical flip swaps top and bottom. You can select both or clear just one.
Flipping and rotating are different actions
Flipping mirrors the video. To rotate the frame 90 degrees to correct its orientation, use Video rotation.
Comparing the display and clearing flips are separate actions
The selected flip settings remain when you display the original video for comparison. “Clear flips” clears both the horizontal and vertical settings.
