What you can do

Adjust original and added audio separately

You can set the volumes separately, for example to keep speech while lowering background music, or to remove the original audio and use only music.

Play the part you need from any position

Specify separately which range of the audio to use and where it starts playing in the video.

Make the beginning and end of the audio smooth

Use fade-in and fade-out to adjust how the audio starts and ends.

How to use

  1. Choose video and audio

Add the base video and the background music or narration to overlay.

  2. Set volume and start position

Adjust the volumes of the original video and added audio, and specify where the audio plays in the video.

  3. Adjust the selected range and fades

Trim the beginning and end of the audio as needed, and set fades at the start and end.

  4. Check the overlaid audio and save

Check the volume balance and timing in the preview, then save the video with audio.

Useful when

Add background music to an introduction video

Overlay music that suits the video's mood, and adjust the volume so speech is not drowned out.

Overlay narration on a video

Add prepared narration at the required position in a presentation or instructional video.

The differences between original audio, start position, and fades

Original and added audio have separate settings

You can keep added background music or narration even when muting the original video. Excessively high volume may cause clipping, so check the overlaid result.

“Playback start position” and “Selected range”

The playback position is a time in the video. The selected range specifies which part of the audio file to use. For example, playing seconds 5–9 of the audio from second 2 of the video overlaps seconds 2–6 of the video.

Fades gradually change the volume

Fade-in applies to the beginning of the selected audio, and fade-out to the end. After changing the selected range, check the duration and how it sounds.
