Image difference comparison
Load one original image and one changed image, then move the divider to compare the edits. Detect changes when needed, and export the comparison as PNG or PDF to save it. Compare one selected frame from a GIF or one selected page from a PDF.
What you can do
Compare as soon as the images load
Move the divider left or right to inspect the original and changed images at the same position.
Review changes and save the comparison
Detect differences when needed and inspect the numbered list. Export the comparison image as PNG or PDF to save it.
How to use
Choose two images
Choose one original image and one changed image. Select one frame for a GIF or one page for a PDF.
Move the divider to compare
Move the handle left or right on the image. You can also zoom, pan the view or swap sides.
Detect changes when needed
Select Detect changes. If the images are misaligned, adjust alignment in advanced settings.
Choose a view and save
Choose a side-by-side, overlay or difference view, then export and save the comparison you need.
When this is useful
Review an image before and after editing
Compare edits to a photo or design at the same position.
Compare screenshots
Review visual changes such as layout and color.
How to interpret the comparison
Visual comparison and change detection
You can use the divider without waiting for change detection. Detect changes when you need the numbered list or a saved comparison.
Panning the view and aligning images
Zooming and panning change the area you are viewing. To correct misalignment between the two images, use Alignment in advanced settings.
Detection settings affect the result
The color-difference threshold and change-region area affect which changes are detected. This does not automatically interpret the meaning of image contents.
GIFs and PDFs are compared in part
One selected GIF frame or PDF page is compared as an image. This page does not compare entire files in a single operation.
Frequently asked questions
Can I compare images with different sizes or formats?
Yes. Alignment does not run automatically when images load. Adjust position, rotation or scale when needed.
Does this interpret differences in text meaning?
This page compares image appearance. It detects pixel differences, rather than comparing text meaning or capture metadata.
Does no changes mean the files are completely identical?
It means no differences were detected under the current settings. It does not guarantee identical file contents or all details.
Can I save the comparison result?
After detecting changes, export the current view as PNG or PDF to save it. Display zoom and scroll position are separate from the image contents.
