Understanding file information comparison
Appearance and attributes are separate
Images that look alike can have different file sizes or stored information. This page does not calculate pixel differences.
Only stored information is read
Available fields depend on the format and how the image was saved. Information that was not stored is not restored.
Missing fields differ from reading failures
A missing field on one side differs from an unreadable file. Failed metadata is not judged as matching or different.
The displayed values are compared
Each retrieved field is compared as a string. Editors and saving methods can change field names or value representations.

The existing reader returns up to 128 fields per image. Retrieval of every format or field is not guaranteed.
Can I delete or restore photo information?
