Grid size, output dimensions & artwork data

Grid size & PNG dimensions

The canvas is a square of 8, 16, 32 or 64 cells per side. Saving a 16×16 canvas at 8 times scale produces 128×128 px; the number of cells does not change.

Resize the canvas

The drawing at the top left is preserved; making the canvas smaller crops the right and bottom edges. Use “Undo” to return to the state before the change.

Transparent areas & background color

The checkerboard indicates transparent cells. PNG is saved with transparency or the specified background color, without the checkerboard, grid or selection border.

PNG & editable JSON

PNG is the finished image. Artwork JSON keeps the canvas size and each cell's color. There is no feature to load a PNG image and edit it again.
