SVG optimization

Choose a static SVG file or paste code to optimize it. Compare the display, code, and file size before and after optimization, then copy the result or save it as an SVG.

You can also drop a file to add it

0 B · Static UTF-8 SVG (up to 1 MiB)

Advanced settings3 decimal places · Metadata/comments Removed Multiple optimization passes ON

Reducing the number of digits may change fine details of the shape. Check the display after processing.

IDs, viewBox, title, and description are preserved.

After optimization, compare the display and code, and also check the appearance where you will publish it.

What you can do

Optimize SVG file size

Clean up comments, metadata from editing software, numerical representations, and other content.

Check before and after, then save

Compare the display, code, and file size, then copy or save the optimized SVG.

How to use

  1. Enter SVG

Select 1 SVG file or paste code.

  2. Adjust settings if needed

Check decimal precision and the information to remove in advanced settings. You can usually start with the defaults.

  3. Compare display and file size

Run optimization and check changes to the appearance, code, and file size.

  4. Save the optimized SVG

Copy the resulting code or download it as an SVG file.

Useful when

Reduce logo and icon file sizes

Clean up an SVG before publishing it on the web and check the balance between appearance and file size.

Clean up editing information

Remove editing software metadata and comments as needed, then save.

What to check when optimizing SVG

Metadata and display are separate

You can remove editing software information and comments. Titles, descriptions, and similar content are retained by the settings.

When decimal precision changes shapes

Rounding decimals in coordinates and other values may change fine outlines or positions. Compare before and after processing.

Also check CSS and references at the destination

IDs and viewBox are retained, but the code is cleaned up. If you use external CSS or similar references, check the appearance where the SVG is actually published.

Static SVGs are supported

SVGs containing scripts, external references, embedded images, or animation are excluded. References contained within the SVG are supported.

Frequently asked questions

Will the file size always decrease?

For SVGs that are already optimized, the file size may stay the same or increase. Decide based on the resulting file size.

Will the appearance stay the same?

It may change depending on settings such as decimal precision. Check the before-and-after previews and the display where it will be published.

Can I also check the original code?

Open “Code before optimization” in the results to check the content before this processing run.
