Take a webcam photo
Take a photo while viewing your webcam feed and save it as a PNG image. Check the camera and mirror setting, then review the photo and retake it if needed. Use it to prepare a profile photo or a still image to include in a document.
What you can do
Check the feed and take a photo
Choose a camera, check the preview, then take a photo. Video recording and the microphone are not used.
Review, retake and save a photo
View the captured photo at a larger size, then choose whether to retake it or save it as a PNG image.
How to use
Start the camera
Choose the camera and allow camera access in your browser.
Check the feed and take a photo
Check the framing and orientation, then select “Take a photo”.
Review and save the photo
Check the result and save the PNG image. Retake the photo if needed.
When it is useful
Save a still image from the camera
Save an object in front of you or anything shown to the camera as a single PNG image.
Take a photo for a profile
Capture a photo to use in a profile. Make changes to the background or shape after taking the photo.
Captured photos and the saved format
The result is a single still image
The preview is a moving camera feed, but the saved file is a PNG image of the moment you take the photo. Use Webcam recorder to save a video.
Check the photo size and orientation
The photo follows the camera feed’s dimensions and is scaled down to the selected maximum height. Turning on mirroring also flips the saved photo horizontally.
Save as a PNG image
Download the PNG file after taking the photo. Use Image converter if you need another format.
