PNG to WebP
Convert PNG logos and illustrations to WebP while preserving their existing transparent areas, making them usable on WebP-compatible sites. Add multiple files, adjust dimensions or quality if needed, check the result and file size, then save files individually or as a ZIP. The defaults are original dimensions, quality 85 and the first frame as a still image; metadata cannot be preserved.
What you can do
Save transparent assets as WebP
Convert while preserving the PNG's transparent areas. Use the result on WebP-compatible websites or image displays.
Check appearance & file size
Start with quality 85 and check fine lines and text, adjusting only if needed. Smaller file size is not guaranteed.
How to use
Add images
Select PNG files or add them from a folder.
Check output settings
WebP is already selected. Open advanced settings only if needed to change dimensions or quality.
Convert & save
Check the resulting images, dimensions and file sizes, then save them. You can also get multiple results as a ZIP.
When this is useful
Prepare a logo for your site
Layer a transparent PNG logo over the background of a WebP-compatible site.
Compare file sizes for transparent assets
Check the appearance and file size of the original PNG and converted WebP to choose which to use.
What conversion changes & what it keeps
Transparency & image quality are separate settings
Even when transparent areas are preserved, compression may change how lines and colors look. Zoom in to check.
The default saves a still image
For this conversion, an animated PNG is also saved as a still image of its first frame. To extract a later frame or all frames, use the dedicated Animation frame extractor.
Frequently asked questions
Is the background checkerboard saved too?
No. It is displayed only to help you see transparent areas.
Can I convert without changing image quality?
The current quality settings may change the appearance. Check the converted result and keep the original PNG too.
Is image metadata preserved?
This tool cannot preserve it in WebP output. Keep the original file if it contains information you need.
