Convert MKV to MP4

Choose 1 MKV video of up to 500 MB and convert its supported video track and, if present, 1 selected audio track to MP4 for sharing or playback. Save the entire video as H.264, with AAC if audio is present, and check playback and file size. Subtitle tracks, attachments, and unselected audio are not included.

    Choose the audio to keep only if there are multiple audio tracks. Subtitles and attachments are not saved.

Handling subtitles and multiple audio tracks

At most 1 audio track is saved. If the file contains audio, the selected track is included. Subtitles, attachments, and similar data are not included, and subtitles are not burned into the video.

Handling dimensions and duration

Convert the entire video, generally preserving the original width and height. If either dimension is odd, 1 px may be added at the edge to suit the format.

Frequently asked questions

Is all the content of the original MKV carried over?

Only the main video and, if present, the selected audio track are saved. Keep the original MKV if you also need subtitles or other audio tracks.

Can I save as H.265 or WebM?

This purpose saves only MP4 (H.264). For other formats, use the video format converter.

Can I make an audio-only file?

This page saves an MP4 containing video. If you only need audio, use MP3 conversion.
